Secondary Targety Audience Research

In this post I will be picking videos off YouTube that are in the same genre of the song I am using for my music video.

Knives and Pens - Black Veil Brides - 23,195,042 views
The Last Fight - Bullet For My Valentine - 3,110,913 views
Not The American Average - Asking Alexandria - 13,649,739 views
Make It Out Alive - Yashin - 106,103 views
Cold - AxeWound - 1,195,249 views
This War Is Ours - Escape The Fate - 3,579,175 views

This shows that the genre is popular among the audience and all these videos are ones with a lot of preformance in which is why I chose to look at them. The thing that helps these bands get the amount of views they get on their videos is that they get reviewed by magazines such as Rock Sound and Kerrang. People who associate themselves with the genre then go and buy these magazines and read up the reviews, making them want to watch the video. After people who like this genre watch the video, they sometimes go on to social network sites such as Twitter, Facebook, etc. and post it up on there for their friends and other people around the world to watch. This way of sharing music videos is the best way for bands to get more people into their fan-base.

  1. and what does this info tell you??

you need to say what makes these videos so popular. what do they have in common? what helps get 23 million views?! and what will you take from them to help shape your video?

if you don't ask those sorts of questions then the list is pointless
